So now our focus shifts to the loving old as she crosses the ocean to save him with some help from the world-famous triplets of Belleville. But suddenly, a shady mafia group kidnaps the cyclist and takes him to Belleville, a stand-in for New York. You would expect the film to follow him either winning or losing the race. Years later Champion is all grown up with the thickest thighs and is training with grandma to win the Tour de France. After Champion’s grandmother finds his journal filled with photos of bikes and cyclists, she buys her kid a tricycle. We follow the lives of a boy named Champion and his adoptive grandmother. That is the French film The Triplets of Belleville. But in glorious 2D, told wordlessly and a title that barely has anything to do with the actual film. But what if I told you that there is another animated film in 2003 about a parental figure going on a journey to find their lost child. With Finding Nemo, Tokyo Godfathers, and even Brother Bear having major plot points about trying to find loved ones. Or, at least To most of the public.Ģ003 animation had one big story trend, getting lost from family members.
